ACTUALIZATION IN INJURY TREATMENT

Abstract

Injury treatment is an area that changes constantly. The great advances in materials and tecniques for injury care make possible to get patients a better outcome. At the present day, the aim of injury treatment is to improve physiological healing, decreasing the time of the process and the risk of infection. Also it is necessary to consider the patient's general and individual factors, the recommended antiseptical sollutions, mechanical cleaning maneuvers, cultures of the lession, removal of necrotic tissues, type of patches, and some criteria to choose a proper cover over the the injury, keeping a well moisturized envirorment. This article presents a summary of the recomended standards of Ministry of Health of Chile and add some contributions of nurses authors.
