Abstract

This is a synthesis of academica production in international and national research projects and studies development by the academic staff that teaches at School of Nursing of Catholic University of Chile. Between January and December of 2003.35 research studies was done by professors. From this studies, 54,2% doesn't have any financial support, so they were developed as part of clinical and teaching work. This reveals high level of motivation and engagement of the staff of professors with constructing nursing knowledge. 45, 7% are studies done as part of collaborative research with international funds as CIDA/ Canada and Fogarty/NIH/USA. 11,4% are studies that have internal financial support from the Direction of Research of the School of Nursing. During the year, professors did 46 publications (book chapters, international and national journals, abstracts in books of international and national research or professional meetings). Academic production of professors of the School of Nursing shows stability and improve quality and competitiveness that offers a guarantee of progressive excellence.
