For over a century, being a photo-journalist has been a matter of skills, bravery and agility to obtain the right picture in the right time. This, along with the traditional bond between journalism and objectivity, have put the camera at the centre of the training or these professionals. Even journalism schools have reduced the expression of visual register to just basic photography courses. This article summarizes the first part of a research effort that explores both problems and possibilities of a new visual narrative methodology - one that can register images for editorial-journalistic use and, at the same time, complement photojournalists formation for press and TV.
