El uso del edu-entretenimiento en la prevención de la salud
una revisión de alcance

Este artículo analiza la producción científica global entre 1992 y 2024 sobre las estrategias de comunicación para la salud basadas en el edu-entretenimiento (EE) y su articulación con los niveles de prevención. Mediante una revisión de alcance y un análisis de contenido cuantitativo de 321 artículos indexados en Web of Science y Scopus, el estudio identifica tendencias y brechas críticas en el campo. Los resultados muestran una marcada asimetría investigativa, con un predominio abrumador de la prevención primaria (72,9%) enfocada en el cambio conductual individual ante problemáticas como el VIH/SIDA y la planificación familiar, mientras que la prevención primordial, centrada en los determinantes sociales, apenas representa 0,6% de la muestra. El campo permanece teóricamente anclado en modelos psicológicos (79,7%), con una aplicación limitada de enfoques críticos. En la dimensión mediática se observa una transición desde formatos tradicionales hacia contenidos digitales en Internet, el segundo medio más relevante tras la televisión. Asimismo, se evidencia un sesgo geográfico liderado por el norte global, que subraya la necesidad de fortalecer la producción científica en regiones como África y América Latina. En conclusión, el EE se ratifica como un recurso versátil para cumplir el ODS3; no obstante, su consolidación como motor de cambio exige superar el paradigma conductista individual.
