Guidelines: Reviewing for IJANR
Reviewing for IJANR
Thank you for agreeing to review for the International Journal of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Without your help, the peer-review process cannot be done. This guideline outlines our editorial process and the expectations we have for reviewers. The following guidelines are adapted from the Journal of Open Science Software.
Main Principles
If a submission includes a strong and attractive hypothesis, a novel approach, and a good-quality manuscript, the peer-review process should be straightforward and fast. However, if a submission falls short, please provide clear, constructive feedback to help the authors improve. One of our goals is to raise the overall quality of research, and your opinion and feedback are needed for that.
Reviews should remain objective and assess the submission based on its content, not personal opinions. If a conflict of interest exists and you cannot offer an impartial evaluation, please contact the corresponding associate editor. Conflicts include:
-
Collaborations (within the past 5 years)
-
Shared funding or publications
-
Family, business, or mentor/mentee relationships
-
Employment at the same organization within the past year
If a conflict exists, notify the editor handling the submission (or the Editor-in-Chief if you're an associate editor). Some conflicts may be waived if impartiality can reasonably be maintained. For example, working on the same massive publication without actual collaboration. When in doubt, please consult with the editors. Declaring any actual or potential conflicts is part of our professional ethical responsibility.
