This study presents a description and taxonomy of a precise type of UF, syntactic as well as semantic. (verbal function, with structure verb + direct object, two lexematic units distributed in such functions, and related to the semantic field ‘decir’ or ‘hablar’). Their diverse classes are determined considering their agglutination to the UF on the basis of three criteria: statistical, functional and semantic. Specially enriched in our taxonomic gradation is the field of transparent UF, and that of the partial idiomacy UF. The categorization used redefines and applies rigorously the concepts of collocation and repeated discourse, considering the syntactic construction that underlies the UF and the lexical idiomacy of the components involved. (verb and direct object).
