Abstract
This investigation endeavors to recount the cultural participation of a group of photographers in a field both expanded and challenged by the social and political reality of the 80’s in Chile. Its primary intent is to establish the interior group of the AFI (Association of Independent Photographers), the operative center of visual reconnaissance consisting of these authors and their works marked by an “aesthetic of disrespect”. With recognized, authorial and professional work, these architects defy the self-indulgent aesthetic the Chilean military dictatorship sought to maintain and impose.
