Abstract

The gradual distancing of the concept of beauty from that of art and their final separation which is characteristic of most contemporary works of art are a reflexion of the spiritual crisis experienced by the society that produces them. The concept of beauty has been replaced by other concept which have been unable to fill the empty spaces caused by the absence of beauty. Wrong conceptions about the escence of beauty also contribute to reinforce this situation. This work intends to establish certain distinctions in the creative process through the concepts of "techne", "ludus'' and "symbalon" and to propose a theory that will contribute to create the capacity to understand that the beautiful emerges in every work of art, in a new way, a unique creation, and inseparable from its significance.
