Resumen

La validez de las conclusiones provenientes de un Análisis de Varianza, depende de la relativa exactitud con que las observaciones satisfacen los supuestos implícitos en dicho análisis y que se refieren a la normalidad, la aleatoriedad e independencia, la aditividad y la homoscedasticidad. El presente trabajo comprende tres secciones básicas. La primera de ellas muestra cómo el no cumplimiento de los supuestos puede evitarse mediante el uso de una nueva variable que se obtiene a través de la transformación de los datos originales. En la segunda sección, conjuntamente con estudiarse las causas que originan el no cumplimiento de los supuestos, se ve un conjunto selecto de transformaciones útiles en la investigación. Por último, la tercera sección presenta algunas consideraciones teóricas y prácticas concernientes a la obtención de las transformaciones, mencionando finalmente ciertas técnicas no paramétricas que se pueden utilizar en reemplazo.
