Evolución espacio-temporal de la industria siderúrgica en Chile y en los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica

Históricamente la localización de la industria del fierro y del acero ha sido crucial tanto a niveles de status de geografía política como de bienestar económico. Esto, sumado al hecho de que en las últimas dos décadas de la estrategia de la localización de esta actividad ha constituido un aspecto altamente dinámico, hace del carácter espacial de la industria, un hecho o fenómeno significativo como de gran actualidad. El presente estudio hace un paralelo entre la evolución histórica de la industria del fierro y del acero en Chile y Estados Unidos. Con el propósito de detectar el comportamiento en la producción de cada centro y para predecir un posible cambio espacial de esta actividad, se aplicó un análisis cuantitativo.
