Abstract

Peru is a country with a mostly religious population, with traditions and a culture that has a direct connection with religion, especially Catholicism, becoming one of the essential elements of it, which has been crucial to set the structure for the values ​​of Peruvian society and its primary legal rules of the legal system In this context, Peru has designed a relationship system with religious entities, established in the Constitution of the Republic, which has been progressively developed through the constitutional jurisprudence, law and regulation of religious freedom and other norms of a lower rank. Regardless of the agreement established with the Holy See, the State has not signed specific agreements with other religious entities and not in sight in the short term are to be held. This paper aims to explain the existing legal system, based on public manifestations of religion and its historical confessional genesis. Then will develop the hierarchical structure rules governing the right of religion, its legal principles, giving a proper space to the Catholic Church regime and the nature of the agreement that binds them. Later it will focus on support the legal status of religious organizations, with specific chapters on education, culture and system of collaboration with them.
