LA ADQUISICIÓN DE LA CIUDANÍA ESPAÑOLA POR PARTE DE LOS JUDÍOS SEFARDÍES TRAS LA APROBACIÓN DE LA LEY 12/2015

Abstract

This article analyzes the system established by the Spanish Act 12/2015 to facilitate the getting of the Spanish nationality to Sephardic Jews through the naturalization certificate. Its aim is to compensate for the loss of the condition of Spaniards that Jews suffered after their expulsion in the fifteenth century. In order to understand well this new rule, this articles pays attention to the ways that the Spanish legal system establishes to get the nationality, as well as the background of Act 12/2015 and the effects of its approval
