Abstract

Tolerance presents itself as a fundamental value of the Democratic State of Law, which is based on the principles of freedom and equality, pillars on which human rights are founded. This work intends to questionthe practice of religious intolerance in democracy, seeking to answer whether it is possible to defendtolerance in situations of extreme intolerance. In order to answer the proposed questions, bibliographicalresearch was used, having as a theoretical framework, specifically, the discussions of Norberto Bobbio and Boaventura de Sousa Santos.
