¿Is sound a matter of architectural space?
The case of auditive stimulation in childhood

This article addresses the possibility of considering sound as a matter that is part of the architectural space. This means not only recognizing its presence in space, but its design includes shaping the sound and its appearance. This is done through a case study, the design of a playful stimulation void for early childhood. The proposal for this space is a sound stimulation module, whose design process fundamentally requires including sound as a core part of living. The results show that this is a complex process in which the architecture profession does not have many skills. The role of sound within architecture is reconsidered, establishing points of contact with other trades that could contribute positively to the formal consideration of sound as part of the architectural space
