“Armónica cintura”: Musical Symbolism in Gonzalo Rojas's Poem Cítara mía
Main Article Content
Abstract
The relationships between music and poetry are well known and poets often turn to music in their writing process or include musical references in their poems, as is the case of Gonzalo Rojas. The Chilean poet also possesses a special sense of rhythm and sonority that makes his work especially musical. This work proposes an analysis of the configuration of the poem “Cítara mía” from an interdisciplinary perspective
through a commentary on references and musical symbols (illustrated with examples from art history) and, to a lesser extent, its rhythmical qualities.
