Horacio Castellanos Moya, the freedom of the word
Main Article Content
Abstract
In 2018, there appeared two novels by Salvadoran Horacio Castellanos Moya: La Diaspora and Moronga. The first novel is a reissue of the book that marked the beginning of his literary activity. This work aims to analyze both novels based on categories that are always present in his work. Literature and politics, exile and violence constitute the matrix of Castellanos Moya’s literary and essay productions who try to show that the only way in which man feels free is through writing. This literary project is strongly connected with a political perspective that leads him to distance himself from the events in his country and from some kind of revolutionary engagement.
