Valores funcionales de las locuciones prepositivas en español

Abstract

Contrary to the closed nature of the inventory of Spanish prepositions, prepositional idioms are an open category. Prepositional idioms of the type Prep.+ Core + Prep. analyzed in this paper; do not show afunctional uniformity and play dijferent syntactic functions. The author points to two groups of prepositional idioms: grammaticalized prepositional idioms, whose core has lost its original meaning, and others, which are productive in determined structures
