The author analyzes two syntactic features present in the cultivated speech of Santiago de Chile that can also be extrapolated to other regions. These related phenomena are known as queísmo and dequeísmo and occur when the preposition ‘de’ is deleted/inserted before determined structures, which is considered agrammatical
