Abstract

In tragedy, art and thought are joined in a same artifice to dive in the contingency and permanence of man. The present document checks the cardinal ideas of Nietzsche and Aristotle on the essence of the tragic genre, and reviews the most pertinent philosophical references on tragic knowledge. Art and thought lead human beings to conceive the real as a whole, with infinite communicating vessels among their multiple levels. Human beings become tragic creatures when they sense the separation and dispersion between those multiple levels, and fight to re-tie the chunks, to assemble the broken facets of their own face.
