LIST OF PRIESTS WHO MINISTERED IN THE ATACAMEÑA REGION DURING THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY AND SOME DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THEIR MISSION.

Abstract

From the examination of the sacramental books and other annotations relative to "fabrica", "visitas" and activities, in general, of the two existing curatos in the atacameña region during the Spanish administration - Atacama la Alta or la Grande (San Pedro) and Atacama la Baja or la Chica (Chiuchiu) - the names of the diverse priests that carried out their pastoral in these curatoa can be obtained, although, in most of the cases, we have not been able to reach a wider knowledge about their respective performances and personalities. This is the main objective of the research, to recognize the relationship between the priestly exercise and the place in which they exercised their work.
