Abstract

This work analysis three types of realtionship between literature and geography: the literature issue as a demonstrative element, as a colective image and as a process of analogies. To verify these characteristics localliterature was approached having in mind the geographical concepts of region and area. The case study was the province of Mendoza. In this regard, the Contents of ten different literature works were analyzed. This study shows the important contributions literature can make to geographical research. On the other hand, it is stated that the literature and geography interaction facilitates problems definition and hipothesis formulation.
