La Marginalidad Urbana desde la Perspectiva del Poblador

Abstract

This research examines the problemof urban depr ivation from the view of the people affected. Relations of a specific personality dimension denominated "Locus of Control" with residential satisfaction, job and housing search were established. The study was carried out in Las Lomas, a shanty town located on the northern rim of the Mapocho River in northeastern Santiago, being interviewed 84 resident s. Null findings resulted , but in spite of the poor living conditions, high residential satisfaction prevailed.
