Abstract

The author begins with an abstract definition of the present Roman Catholic
theology of religions, and then analyzes the Christian theology of religions which is marked by two main streams, A) From Justin to Karl Rahner and B) From Tertulian to Karl Barth. Later on, Roman Catholic theology of religions is presented from the Vatican Council II to the pontificate of John Paul II. Finally, we find reflection of the purpose, forms and orientation that must conduct the present inter-religious dialog.

Doctor en Teología por la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (España). Profesor Titular en el Instituto de Ciencias Religiosas (Ad instar Facultatis) de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso y Profesor de Ecumenismo e Iglesia y Sectas en el Pontificio Seminario Mayor San Rafael de Valparaíso. Entre sus publicaciones recientes cabe mencionar «Reflexiones en torno al Documento:
Declaración conjunta Católica – Luterana sobre la Doctrina de la Justificación» (2005), «Protestantes y Evangélicos en Valparaíso – Chile» (2005).
