The theoretical considerations about the necessary geographical base for environmental program are discussed in this paper. The environtnental education is a multidisciplinary problem rhat requires a theory of each of the different sciences irivolved. Geography has two fundamental aspects: the spatial setting that can define units with similar elements or processes (spatial homogeneous units) that permit a priorizarion of the environmental problems ar different scales. Another iniportant issue is the global vision that Geography can give and make possible the relationship of the natural, cultural and social environment.
